Martin Pisano, a Western Electric employee, was 23 years old and married. His son Salvatore (Sal), who was just 3 months old, was in his mother's arms at the wharf as his father boarded the Eastland. It would be the last time that mother and son would see their husband and father. And although Sal would never get to know his father, Sal did not forget him nor that he was a victim of the Eastland Disaster. In 1940, 25 years after the Eastland Disaster, Sal organized a memorial mass in loving memory of his father and those that perished on the Eastland.
